Note that IU Southeast is an institutional member of the Speed Art Museum in Louisville for 2008. This membership entitles faculty members, staff, and students to free admission to the museum's permanent art collection, special traveling exhibitions, AfterHours events, and selected lectures and concerts. You must show your IU Southeast ID card to take advantage of this membership.

IPFW Names Josh Schultz as Assistant Baseball Coach

Fort Wayne, IN - IPFW head baseball coach Billy Gernon has announced that Josh Schultz has been hired as graduate assistant coach for the program. Schultz, formerly the head coach at IU-Southeast, helped lead the Grenadiers to a Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championship, en route to being named the league's Coach of the Year.

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama will visit IU Southeast Wednesday, April 23, at 12:45 p.m. The town hall event will be held in the Activities Building.

The event is free, but tickets are required for entry.

ISO Ice Cream Social...and Elections

Enjoy some ice cream – and take an early break from finals – with the International Student Organization on April 22 from 5 to 6 in the University Center South, Room 121 (above the food court area).

In addition to the Ice Cream Social, we will have elections for a full slate of officers for next year. The positions that need to be filled are president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and social coordinator. If you would like to help the ISO through holding one of these positions, let us know so we can put your name on the ballot. We can also take "nominations from the floor," meaning you can ask to be a candidate at the election meeting, but it would be easier for balloting if you let us know in advance. This is a great opportunity to help get the ISO off and running as a major group on campus, but in order to do it, we need YOU!

Chelsea Clinton to visit IU Southeast

NEW ALBANY, IN, (April 7, 2008) – Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton will visit Indiana University Southeast Tuesday on behalf of her mother, Hillary, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for President.

Chelsea Clinton will speak at 1:30 p.m. at the Hoosier Room at IU Southeast. Her presentation is entitled "Our Economy, Our Future." Two IU Southeast students will join Clinton for her presentation. A question and answer session will follow the speech, which is sponsored by the College Democrats.

Chelsea Clinton has visited several colleges around the state, including IU Bloomington, to campaign for her mother. Hillary Clinton also spoke in New Albany recently at an event at the South Side Inn.

The presentation is free and open to the public. The Indiana primary election is May 6.

Seminar Series Program
As part of the International Center's Seminar Series Program, two important topics will be presented during the month of February:

• Tenant/Landlord Seminar—This is a popular seminar that has been a co-sponsorship between the IU Student Legal Services office and the International Center for the past few years. The goal is to provide international students with the necessary knowledge to understand the issue of lease agreements as well as the tenants' rights and responsibilities. The seminar will be held on Thursday, February 21st, 7:00 p.m. at the IC. Please RSVP to intlcent@indiana.edu by Tuesday, February 19th to reserve a spot. Refreshments will be served.

• Job Seminar—Also a popular topic that aims at providing international students with valuable information that will assist them when preparing for the job market. This will be a follow-up to last semester's session and it will focus on interviewing etiquette, what makes us stand out in an interview, how to prepare to impress prospective employers, and immigration-related matters applicable to job opportunities. The program, co-sponsored with the Career Development Center, will take place on Thursday, February 28th, 7:00 p.m. at the IC. Please RSVP to intlcent@indiana.edu by Tuesday, February 26th. Friday Noon Concerts
The International Center invites you to its weekly Noon Concert this Friday, February 15th, at 12:00 p.m. Our guest performers for this week are singer Viktoria Car and harpist Valeska Gleser. Take a break in the day and enjoy listening to wonderful classical music in a relaxed atmosphere. A light lunch will be served after the concert.

Coffee Hour – Outreach Kenya
The Outreach Kenya Development Volunteers association will be hosting this week's Coffee Hour at the International Center. The Ukrainian Conversation Club has joined the other language conversation clubs that meet weekly at the IC. English Language Practice
Are you an international student concerned about your English language skills and feeling that you need more opportunities to practice? If so, the IC can help you. Join us every Saturday for the Practical English Tutorial (P.E.T.) Program. Sessions start at 12:00 noon, they are free and appointments are not necessary. Treasure House
If you are in need of household items, please visit the Treasure House located in the International Center's basement. A variety of gently used household items such as kitchen supplies, bedding and small appliances are available for sale at very moderate prices.
